Welcome to Mrs. Sokoloski's Student Webpage
Welcime to Tourtellotte Memorial High School and the science classes that I teach. This website is for the students in Mrs. Sokoloski's science classes. It contains assignments as well as links to various websites that we may be using in class. The following are the expectations of the science department for all students enrolled in science classes at TMHS
Listed below are some general requirements for all students so that they can achieve success in any science
course.
1) Good attendance. If a student is frequently absent, it is almost impossible to pass. If you miss a class, you are expected to make up missed work, both for credit and to stay up to date with the rest of the
class.
2) Being prepared for class. You should always come to class with your book (covered!), a pencil or
pen, notebook, binder, and a calculator. Basic calculators are inexpensive and will be used throughout the year.
3) A well-kept notebook and binder. You should try to keep science notes separate from other subjects, and have a folder or three ring binder to keep all handouts and returned assignments. Being organized enables students to better prepare for tests and quizzes and can make a big difference in grades.
4) Completion of all assigned work. Homework, class work, and lab reports are counted as a significant portion of the yearly grades. Homework, classwork, lab reports, and research papers reinforce the concepts being
presented and expected to be completed on time.
5) Good behavior and consideration of others. We all want you to have a good, safe learning environment. This means that there cannot be any disruption of the learning process. Also, a great deal of instruction takes place in the lab. Therefore, no “fooling” around will be tolerated.
